Do your reading habits change with the seasons? I may read the same genres all year long, but there are some that I defintely read more of during the different seasons. Although, since I live in Hawai’i, my only real season is summer! But I’m still a northern New York girl at heart, and as fall hits, I read more and more thrillers, spooky books, and cozies. So I thought I’d share some of the ones I want to read, and a couple I’ve already read, this fall. What would you add to the list?

release date: 13 September 2022
genre: thriller

This one is a debut novel by one of the hosts of the true crime podcast, Morbid. The author is a trained autopsy tech, so I know the research will be on point, as it always is on the podcast. It’s set in NOLA, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

release date: 9 August 2022
genre: thriller

I loved her book The Night Swim, so I really want to dive into this one this fall. Her last book was twisty and turny, so I have high hopes!

release date: 20 September 2022
genre: witchy romance

This is the sequel to The Ex Hex by the author also known as Rachel Hawkins, who writes delicious thrillers. The first book was funny and quirky, it had a great mystery to tie it all together. And the witchiness was perfect!

release date: 5 January 2021
genre: thriller

And here we have the aforementioned Rachel Hawkins, and a twisty, twisty thriller that I loved. I couldn’t put this one down. You can read my review here on my book blog.

release date: 27 September 2022
genre: thriller

This book has thriller vibes and culty vibes, which I love. What can I say? I’m a child of the 70s; cults were everywhere then!

release date: 23 August 2022
genre: magical realism

I love the MCs in this… a group of octogenarian witches! There’s also an avenging angel to help them in her quest in the form of a TikTok feminist. It just sounds quirky and fun!
