Okay, so I might be delusional, but I’m convinced I’m at least part mermaid. I live by the beach and I am never happier and my soul more filled than when my toes are in the sand and the ocean washes over me. It’s my happy place. It’s only natural that I’m drawn to books about mermaids! So, I thought I’d out together a collection of 20 mermaidy books!

  1. The Mer Tales series by Brenda Pandos (YA). This 4-book series is one of my favorites, set in both the contemporary and the paranormal worlds, and is also on my “re-read” list! Goodreads | Amazon
  2. Another one I love is the 4-book Watersong series by Amanda Hocking (YA). Like the Mer Tales, this is a great blend of the contemporary and the mythology. Goodreads | Amazon
  3. The Siren, a standalone, by Kiera Cass (YA). Admittedly, I love all her work and this one is no different! Goodreads | Amazon
  4. The Waterfire 4-book series by Jennifer Donnelly (YA). I LOVED this series! Great imagery and mythology! Goodreads | Amazon
  5. The Pisces by Melissa Broder (A). This one just came out in May and I need to read this! Goodreads | Amazon
  6. The Mermaid by Christina Henry (A). This is another new one that came out in June. Definitely on my TBR! Goodreads | Amazon
  7. The Real Mermaids 4-book series (YA). I haven’t read these yet, but they sound hilarious! Goodreads | Amazon
  8. The Surface Breaks by Louise O’Neill (YA). This is a fairly new release that is a retelling of The Little Mermaid with a feminist twist, at the top of my TBR! GoodreadsAmazon
