A tattooed peacock poked its head out from under the back of her top, its tail spread across her shoulders. It was beautiful. Then she turned toward me and I realized she was beautiful.
My mouth went dry as our eyes met. The world dropped away from me and I forgot to breathe. Then she smiled and the world settled into its rightful place. She crossed the room, dust motes flying up with every step, and stopped in front of me. I almost lost my ability to breathe again.
