Sometimes I read a book, and then it sets me on a course where I have to read more and more books with that seem. Mermaid, zombies, dystopias, books set in other worlds… you get the idea! One of my favorite obsessions is the multiverse. So here’s a curated list of some of my favorites, as well as some I still want to read!

  1. The Firebird series (three books) by Claudia Gray. I loved, loved, loved her take on the multiverse. The books take you all over the world, highlighting the different ways a culture could have evolved. They are full of twists and turns and lots of intrigue. 5 stars!
  2. The Dissonance series (two books and one novella) by Erica O’Rourke. The series sets up the multiverse on a different theoretical model, with alternate universes created with every decision. The world building in this is amazing, as is the creative way that people can move through the multiverse. This one is an interesting take on “the road not traveled.” Another 5 stars.
  3. The Infinity of You & Me by JQ Coyle. This book was a unique take on the multiverse theme. In this one, the main character knows of the existence of other worlds, but no one believes her. There are so many twists and turns, and it makes you question what you know to be true. 4.5 stars!
  4. The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow. I haven’t read this one yet, but it is at the top of my TBR list.
  5. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. This is another one I have on my TBR. It sounds so good, a bit of a thriller with the multiverse.
  6. The Shades of Magic series by VE Schwab. This, too, is on my TBR. This one is about the multiverse, as well as magic. So it is right up my reading alley!
